SAN DIEGO, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Zeebo, Inc. announced today that Philip White has joined the company as chief financial officer and senior vice president of business operations, and Brett Bissell has been named vice president and general manager of Zeebo Brazil. White brings more than two decades' experience in senior financial and management positions to Zeebo and most recently has served as an advisor and consultant to numerous technology start-ups. Bissell joins Zeebo with nearly 20 years of international business management experience in Japan and Brazil.

"I am grateful that we've expanded the Zeebo executive team with two seasoned leaders who will have an immediate impact on our business around the world," said John F. Rizzo, president and CEO, Zeebo, Inc. "Both Phil and Brett have been a part of driving successful, rapid-growth global organizations and we are fortunate to now have their expertise and focus at Zeebo."

White will be responsible for overseeing and executing the company's key financial, administrative and business operations at Zeebo. In addition to his experience advising start-ups, from 1987 to 2000, he served in a variety of senior executive roles at Qualcomm, Inc., most recently as president of the Qualcomm Enterprise Services (QES) division. In his role with QES he drove sales to $350 million in less than five years and managed more than 1,000 employees worldwide. Prior to his work at Qualcomm, he served in various financial roles for Hughes Network Systems. White holds bachelor's degrees in business economics and history from UC Santa Barbara.

"Zeebo is committed to bringing fun and learning to families around the world, and I jumped at the opportunity to join a globally-focused organization with such innovative ambitions," said White. "I'm ready for the challenge, and look forward to collaborating with our partners to establish a truly unique business model for digital content delivery. This is an exciting milestone in my career, and I'm proud to be a part of the Zeebo vision."

Bissell will be responsible for Zeebo Brazil including managing and growing Zeebo's business and brand presence as well as driving development of new local content in Brazil. He has led international teams not only in Brazil where he headed Flextronics' operations for the past six years, managing more than 10,000 employees, but also in Japan and the US. Prior to Flextronics Brazil, Bissell headed Flextronics operations in Nagoya, Japan. He has also held international and domestic leadership positions in Qualcomm where he helped launch Brazilian manufacturing operations.

"Zeebo Brazil is a critical part of the company's worldwide strategy and my primary goal will be to work with the entire team to identify new, creative ways to continue to grow our business," said Bissell. "I'll also partner with our other regional teams as we provide Zeebo customers with a special interactive experience. We have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the children and families by giving them the chance to 'play, learn and connect' together like never before."

Zeebo, Inc. developed the Zeebo 3G-connected digital gaming, entertainment and education platform to deliver fun and learning to families in emerging global markets. The system is currently selling in Brazil and Mexico, with future rollouts planned elsewhere in Latin America, Asia and beyond. The platform fosters the development and monetization of local content by preventing piracy through fast and convenient shopping with secure 3G broadband wireless connectivity and over-the-air delivery.

For Zeebo customers, content delivery and user interface software updates for the Zeebo system occur over the ZeeboNet Wireless Network and are completely transparent to the user. Customers can purchase and download content quickly and easily from their living rooms, without having to purchase any software disks or other hardware. Connectivity is provided pre-activated for the system, and users do not have to sign up for any additional service plan or contract. Zeebo takes only minutes to set up. Users simply plug the Zeebo into a television set, and the system automatically connects to the ZeeboNet Wireless Network.
